How buying works

  1. Use the trial. It starts the first time Switchyard opens. The label in the app's top bar shows the days left.
  2. Buy from the app, or here. In the app, click that label, or open Settings (Ctrl+,) → Your plan…. Bought there, the plan applies by itself.
  3. Bought here? Your licence key arrives by email. In the app, open Your plan… and paste it into the key box (when you already have a plan: Have a licence key or a promotion code?).
  • One computer per licence. To move to another, paste the key there and confirm. A key can move twice in 30 days; for more, write to us.
  • Promotion codes go in the same place as a licence key.
  • Cancel from Your plan… → Cancel subscription…. It keeps working to the end of the period you paid for, and Keep my plan takes the cancel back. Manage billing… opens Dodo's billing page.
  • If a payment fails, you have 3 days to fix it before the plan ends.
  • Read-only, never locked. After the 30-day trial, without a plan only the read-only basics work: open your repositories, see your changes, the history, a commit and its diffs. Every other feature needs a plan, and comes back the moment you renew.

Questions

Who is the seller?
Dodo Payments is the merchant of record for every order: they take the payment, handle sales tax and VAT, and issue the invoice. On a card statement the charge appears under Dodo's name (for example "DODOPAY"), not Switchyard's.
Which currency will I pay in?
In India, rupees: ₹149 a month or ₹1,490 a year, taxes included, by UPI, RuPay or card. Elsewhere, US dollars, or your local currency at checkout.
Is anything held back in the trial?
No. The trial and the paid plan are the same app with every feature.
Can I get a refund?
See the refund policy.
Does paying change what the app sends?
Your code still never leaves your machine. To know your plan, the app sends a one-way hash of your computer's id and, once you have one, your licence. The privacy policy says exactly what is kept.
